If you plan to visit the Manila Zoo, you have to book an appointment online before the visit. This is to avoid the long queue of online booking on the venue. Manila zoo accepts different payment methods online, but if you can't make an online payment, you can select the option to pay on the Kiosk machine (see the below photo).

It will give you a QR Code that you will present at the venue to make a cash payment. Reminder, you should bring the exact amount because they can't give you any change, and other payment methods may charge an additional service fee.

To get your ticket , go to their website www.manilazoo.ph/book-appointment

They are open every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The visitors are required to present a valid ID upon entering the zoo. For Manila residents, you should present an ID with your photo and address (should be in Manila) to get the discounted price of the entrance fee.

How to get to Manila Zoo?

From Monumento, Caloocan, ride the train (LRT 1) fare is 30 pesos. Then drop off at Quirino Avenue Station. From there, you can take a tricycle or a pedicab to go to the zoo. It will take less than 10 minutes to get there, and the fare is around 30 - 50 pesos.

Taxi or the Grab Car are other options.
If you're taking young children and toddlers to a zoo, it's advisable to use a Grab or a Taxi, if either is offered where you live. It is the most practical and secure option in my opinion. It can reduce the need to change modes of transportation, which is essential if you have children.

As these modes of transportation will pick you up from your location and leave you down at the entrance to the animal theme park, it is also less stressful for you. However, it does have one drawback: it is more expensive than other PUVs.

About Manila Zoo

For kids and adults who love animals, the Manila Zoo, also called the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, is a wonderful destination. Its 5.5 hectares, or 55000 square meters, of land are home to 1000 animals of 90 different kinds and a wide variety of vegetation. On July 15, 1959, it first opened to the general audience. The Manila LGU began renovating the zoo in July 2020, and in November 2022 it was ready for visitors.

What to anticipate?

Since the renovation has made it significantly better than it was before, I am happy with it. I am astounded by the difference in the reptile area because it used to smell bad, but now there isn't any scent and their cages are bigger and cleaner.

If you feel the need to rest after exploring the 5.5 hectares of the zoo, there are plenty of chairs, water fountains, and restrooms available.

And don't worry if you become hungry—there are plenty of food stands in the zoo.  You may have coffee, milk tea, fruit shakes, pizza, burgers, pasta, rice dishes, desserts, etc.
